From quite early in the race it became clear that it just wasn't to be our day. I had some difficulties at the start and was overtaken by Jenson not soon after.
In Budapest, the first laps are often decisive because you can quickly lose touch with the drivers in front.
Getting stuck in traffic is frustrating, especially when you know you could be going a lot faster than you are. We tried a few things to get out of the crowded field but we just couldn't do it. I got pretty close to Romain towards the end but by then my tyres were so worn that I couldn't get a hold of him.
We'll not only be using the summer break to recharge our batteries but also for further developments. Of course not in the next two weeks because the factory is closed, but after that for sure. The good thing is that we have the right speed, but we need to try to make the car as reliable as possible to help us in the races.
But for now, I hope the sun shines on all the Formula One fans over August and that they have time for fun and relaxation. I'll be blogging again as soon as we arrive in Belgium.
By then we'll be ready to go on the attack again – the excitement of the last few days will only make us stronger as a team.
