What a perfect day! We finally achieved what we had been working so hard for in the last few days: to improve our showing in qualifying and get back on top.

The last two races have been important factors in our success today because not only did they give us a lot to think about, but they also taught us a lot about ourselves and the car. It's good to see that it all paid off in the end.

At the end of quali we were surprised by how big our gap was to the other teams. Maybe it's because we always set such high standards for ourselves. So we're very happy with the results of our hard labour.

The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve isn't easy: there are a lot of chicanes and curbs that you need to attack very aggressively. But any mistake, no matter how small, can result in serious consequences, and sometimes a wall because it’s very tight around here.

On Sunday I’m hoping to make a perfect start, have a good race and, preferably, get the same end result as today. I don't think it's a big secret that I would love to win here, especially after last year's turn of events, and will do everything I can to reach this goal.

If I’m looking for an example of a perfect start, I only need to look at how Germany got on in their first Euro 2012 match against Portugal. The win was the perfect end to a perfect day and I'd like to congratulate the whole team and especially Mario Gomez. You did an amazing job today and I hope you'll be rooting for us tomorrow.

Talk to you soon!
Seb
